 When you submit Affidavit of Financial Support, you promise USCIS to support an alien entering the United States and that the alien will not become a public charge. A separate affidavit must be filed by the sponsor for each person.
To qualify as a sponsor, you must demonstrate that your income is at least 125% of the current Federal poverty guideline for you household size. Current Federal Poverty Guidelines (2006):
